Storyboard Frames

Storyboard Frames

Medium shot of the entrance to the temple, the camera slowly zooms in to the double doors. The
sound of the latch being opened will cut the silence in the scene.

Close shot of the door swinging open and someone's feet step into frame.

Close to medium over the shoulder shot as the unknown character walks forwards.

Wide shot from above as the unknown character walks up the stairs and into the center of the
temple.

POV shot from behind the character as they walk amongst bed rolls on the floor. The camera pans
down to swords and other items left on the floor, a loud sound will make the camera and character
look in the direction of the noise.

Close POV shot as two temple guards are sorting through someone's items, they stop and look up
and the character in sync.

Medium cut back to the character looking at the temple guards before he looks away and continues
to walk towards a giant statue in the center of the temple.

Close shot of the character as he looks up at the statue

Cut to a close pan up the statue and ending on a zoom into the face.

Medium shot as the character walks up to an offering bowl and takes an item from their belt, reaching
their arm over the bowl.

Top down, zoom out from the hand as he lets the object fall into the bowl.

Cut back to a close up of the statues face as the camera slowly zooms out.

Cut back to a medium shot of the camera that tracks him turning around and stopping because a
temple guard is standing in front of him. The temple guard will extend a hand and point to a bed roll
on the floor.

Close shot as the character walks past the temple guard in the direction of the bedroll.

Cut back to the shot of the open door looking into the temple as a temple guard walks over and closes
it.

Concept Art - Temple Pillar Designs

I designed a couple of temple pillar looks, i decided on the middle on as the final design for the temple.

Concept Art - Sci-fi room door

These are a couple of designs for a sci-fi themed door, both are relatively simple.

Concept Art - Hangar Bay

I made a basic look for the hangar bay in the sci-fi room, this one is made to look like its made out of sheets of metal pressed together.

Temple model update - (Made before my computer broke, so its a late upload of evidence.)

I started to work on the back wall to my temple as i wanted to create an area for two statues to be posed. I started by creating the correct size box and making it width enough so when i used a cylinder and a boolean tool and i have room to create the shape in the box. Because i was delayed with this evidence and my computer issues i am not going to be able to finish the basic design of the temple, which is disappointing but i cant do much now.

Sci-fi room concept Art - Perspective view

I have been trying to practice my perspective drawing skills as i will probably not be able to create the room in 3ds max and unreal due to computer issues. So instead i am trying to give a drawn representation of what it should look like, i'm pretty terrible at concept art so this has been a big challenge for me to do. I started by mapping out the objects in the room using reference imagery of my old concept art work i created. I then followed the level map i made to find out where each item goes and went from there.

I then moved onto some basic shading, its in relation to no light source as i have just been shading areas that i think would make the object look better.

Temple Pillar - Test model in Mudbox

I started by creating a quick model of a pillar in 3ds Max, before my computer broke. Its just a basic cylinder and some thin boxes on each end. I then did a unwrap which went well for once and i started to move onto mudbox.

I sculpted groves into the pillar to match some concept art that i did for it, i enjoyed this as i could just focus on adding a thin line and making it deeper every so often.I then painted it black so i could work on adding some purple highlights.

This was after a basic highlight of different shades of purple, i think it looks okay and it helps to identify the different areas on the pillar model. I then moved onto exporting this model and making sure it stays the original poly count, which was around 500 i think. Its a helpful process to learn and i will hopefully be able apply it to more models in the future.

This is what the finished version looked like in 3ds max, you can see the render on the left side. I like the finished look and that is without adding any source of lighting to it. The shape i made in mudbox also held up very well when it came to adding it back to 3ds max so that whole process was successful.

Concept Art - Temple Perspective Update

I've started to fill in some more detail like the symbols on the pillars and some basic shading around each object.

I added extra detail like the objects on the floor and bricks on the walls in the background. Overall, i am happy with the final look of the concept art, i'm not good at drawing but i feel that i am getting better and i have a couple more perspective drawings to create for the sci-fi room. So far my concept art has been very basic, no shading and no colour. I want to try and do more perspective drawings as that is something i'm terrible at doing and some more experiments with colour would help. My computer is currently broken but i'm trying to fix it so in the mean time i may as well work on the concept art.

Concept art - Temple perspective progress

I've started to create a perspective view of what my temple should look like using concept art for assets I am going to try and make. I started by drawing lines to understand the scale of the room an use it as a guide for the pillars distance from each other and the viewer. After getting the basic objects into the scene i started to expand o them and add some basic detail like the design of the pillars and the details on the Crystal lights.

Temple Statue progress

Temple Statue Model

I started to work on the temple statue as that is one of the biggest parts of the temple design itself. I
am going to use a basic human character and then add all of the additional items like the cloth, mask
and staff before putting it into a mudbox to finish all of the finer details like the muscles on the body
and such.

I need to freeze the character in a certain way so first i have to rig the model using a basic biped
before I can add the additional details. I also tested out some cloth using a basic plane and it worked
pretty well.

After finishing the biped, I think I did a pretty good job. Definitely the best attempt so far, i am only
using it to pose the character, not to actually move it that's why i am doing this first and not last.
