I've talked about some design choices that I might consider for the Insurgent forces, I now want to look into a design for the ships guard. I want to present this faction as a higher tech and more disciplined force then the insurgents and rebels. This picture is great because it shows off the front and back of the character which allows me to see more of the design and how some of the armour plates have been fitted to the character. There is a lot going on with the character picture so i will have to break each part down individually, the first point that I want to analyse is the colour scheme. It's very neutral with the different shades of grey and black, this is a common colour scheme for sci-fi troops because of the clean and machine like look it gives the character. The character seems to be more armoured more at the front, probably because that's the side that will be facing the enemies. I don't know what the purpose of the pipes are but i think they act as some sort of breathing mask, i like the design for this because it's similar to the gas mask from the other concept art but looks way more concealed and fits well with the style of the armour and not just some mass produced attachment added on.
The armour looks like it's part metal and in some areas a hard body armour, I might try and texture
some area for my guard design to incorporate this body armour design. There are some additional
pockets and sci-fi computer wrist technologies, if I have time, I will add some additional items to the
final guard design but i don't want to go over the top like this image. The red lights on the helmet
really adds some character to this model, even without knowing any other information about this
character i get an evil vibe from him because of the red lights. To improve this image i would maybe
add some more red lights and make it less busy with all the additional items.

The helmet design for me is very complicated but looks very cool, i doubt i could model something as
detailed as that but I could make a more simplistic design that follows the face like design.
